Starboard North comes from a way of living shaped by the elements, long Michigan winters, cold water, early light, and the kind of heat you build yourself.

It began with a sauna at home. We brought it in for two reasons. For Steve, a firefighter, it offered a way to recover from the physical demands of the job. For Kristin, it created a quieter space, a place to step out of the day and reset.

What we did not expect was how it would change everything around it.

The sauna became part of how we experience the seasons. Winter stopped being something to get through and became something to step into, cold air outside, steady heat inside, the natural pull between the two.

Starboard North offers sauna essential oils and tools designed for real heat and steam. Everything is developed through our own use and refined in real conditions. What stayed worked. What did not was removed.

Over time, a small collection took shape. Each piece is designed to support the sauna experience, not compete with it. Oils that behave differently in heat. Tools that help shape the air and movement of the room.
